    Merciful gods, send a beast to sink this ship. I am so tired.

  • The Future

    It has been a long time since I have written in this journal, not since the day of my capture and detainment on that blasted ship. It has been a long time since I was a slave now, over a year I think. How time flies my little Khali, I still remember you every day, my little angel. You'd have been 8 years old this year, I bought a little cake for you in early April in your honor, I hope you liked it sweetheart.
    
    I packed up everything and sold my apartment and came to Eileadora in search of the woman I loved. We rekindled our relationship. I gathered my savings and brought her a beautiful little engagement ring, so that we might never part again, but I was a fool. Sometimes I forget these cities and their hierarchical systems. She is already engaged to a man she danced with at the ball. I thought nothing of it because I trusted her. Either way, it's over now. The family I hoped to have with her will never come to be, even if she comes back to me now it is too late. She has already left me to have relations with another man, and that is final to a relationship.
    
    I was arrested yesterday, it's what reminded me of this journal. I was only in that little cell for maybe two hours before Aeana let me out. Manda must think I'm stupid, that I don't know why Aeana is here. As tragic as her story is and as kind as she is, I know she has been brought in as a replacement partner for me and I am quietly furious. I feel patronized every time that woman passes me some charity. I just want to do my job now, I'm tired of people trying to give me advice. I am fine, I will be fine. I look towards the future.

  • After the Battle

    Soldiers came in the night when we were all asleep. They killed the night watch and then took our settlement by force. Every last building burned to the ground and those of us to injured to fight on were taken in chains. I have failed my people, my family.
    
    Today we arrived at a town, only five of us left, four soldiers and one cook. They cleaned our wounds and put us up on a block where the disgusting creatures then bid for ownership of us. Brogar was killed for resisting. It was undignified, but I will wait for my chance.
    
    I was bought by two filthy elven merchants. I was separated from my brothers and caged on this ship, a floating death trap. I heard one of the crew saying it would be a few days before we dock again. They plan to break me, they will fail.
